Major Facts of our Great City, Ere Ijesa, Osun State.

From “The Earliest Story”

Ajatana and Odofin, motivated by discontent, left the Old Oyo Kingdom and, guided by divine providence, settled in a fertile land of hills, rivers, and swamps. The town's name, Ere-Ijesa, came from travelers referring to the rise above the swamp as "Oke Ere N’beuN Ni mo gba wa" ("I got here through the rise from the swamp").

  • "Children of the Red Earth"
  • "Omo oni koje atete de ere"
  • "Edumare agbe wa o"
  • “Abeja gboro “
